Frank Lloyd Wright is recognized as the greatest American Architect. His last design before passing was the Kalita Humphreys Theater in the Turtle Creek section of Dallas, Texas. This striking building has an exterior mold problem germinating for over 65 years.
The time has come for this historic landmark to be restored. Alexis McKinney AIA of ArchiTexas has been tasked with product selection. To her credit, she has selected Cocoon 550, Alexis has gone outside the box. A coating used for many significant historic installations over the past many decades. It is our hope that other architects follow her lead.
Mold is a major issue as you can see. Cocoon 550 allows us to maintain contouring, color match and matte out gloss. Wholly important to Frank Lloyd Wright. In addition, Cocoon 550 has a biocide that disallows mold from ever permeating the surface. Cocoon will likely maintain it’s attributes for 40+ years. Truly a world class coating.
